1. Check Your Doll’s Material First

MiraBabe dolls may have different body materials and constructions. Before cleaning, bathing, dressing, or styling your doll, check the product page and packaging to confirm the exact body type.

Full Vinyl Dolls

These dolls have a vinyl body or vinyl body sections and are generally lightweight and easy to dress.

  • Wipe gently with a soft damp cloth
  • Do not use bleach, alcohol, acetone, or harsh cleaners
  • Do not assume the doll is bath-safe unless specifically stated
  • Dry fully after any approved contact with water

Soft Cloth Body Dolls

These dolls usually have a cloth torso with vinyl head, arms, and legs.

  • Never submerge the cloth body in water
  • Spot-clean the fabric with a slightly damp cloth
  • Keep internal filling completely dry
  • Do not machine wash or tumble dry

Full Silicone Dolls

Full silicone dolls are soft and flexible, but the material requires careful handling.

  • Support the head and limbs when lifting
  • Avoid pulling fingers, toes, arms, legs, or mouth openings
  • Use only mild cleaning methods suitable for the specific doll
  • Keep away from sharp objects, rough surfaces, heat, and oils

Important: Never assume a doll is waterproof simply because it has a vinyl or silicone body. Bathing suitability depends on the doll’s construction, openings, joints, hair, eyelashes, and accessories. Follow the individual product description.

2. Everyday Cleaning

For light dust, fingerprints, or surface marks, always begin with the gentlest cleaning method.

Remove Loose Accessories

Take off removable clothing, pacifiers, hair accessories, and other loose pieces before cleaning.

Use a Soft Cloth

Gently wipe the surface with a clean, soft cloth that is dry or slightly damp with lukewarm water.

Clean Small Areas First

Test any approved cleaning method on a small, less visible area before treating the whole doll.

Dry Carefully

Pat the doll dry with a soft towel. Do not scrub, twist, or use a hairdryer or other direct heat source.

Products to avoid

  • Bleach and chlorine products
  • Alcohol and disinfecting wipes unless specifically approved
  • Acetone, nail-polish remover, and solvents
  • Strong stain removers
  • Household sprays and abrasive cleaners
  • Perfume, essential oils, lotion, and oily cosmetics
  • Magic erasers and rough sponges

For an uncertain stain or cleaning issue, contact MiraBabe customer care before using a strong cleaner. Some products can permanently remove paint, finish, or surface detail.

3. Bathing and Water Care

Body Type Water Guidance
Soft Cloth Body Do not submerge. Spot-clean only and keep the cloth torso and internal filling dry.
Full Vinyl Bathing is permitted only when the individual product page clearly states that the doll is bath-safe.
Full Silicone Follow the model-specific care instructions. Avoid soaking rooted hair, eyelashes, painted details, or openings unless expressly approved.

When bathing is specifically permitted:

  • Use lukewarm water, never hot water
  • Use only a very small amount of mild soap if needed
  • Do not scrub painted skin details
  • Do not pull or stretch the doll while wet
  • Keep water away from rooted hair and glued eyelashes where possible
  • Pat dry completely before dressing or storing
  • Do not leave the doll soaking or unattended in water

4. Hair Care

Hair care depends on whether your doll has rooted hair, a wig, molded hair, or hand-painted hair.

Rooted Hair

Rooted hair is delicate and may loosen if pulled or brushed roughly.

  • Use a soft baby brush or wide-tooth comb
  • Work slowly from the ends toward the roots
  • Hold the hair near the scalp while detangling
  • Avoid repeated brushing and tight hairstyles
  • Do not use curling irons, straighteners, or hairdryers
  • Do not pull individual strands
Wigged Hair

Gently detangle with a suitable soft brush. Avoid pulling at the wig line or using heat, heavy oils, hairspray, or strong styling products.

Molded or Painted Hair

Do not brush molded or painted hair. Gently wipe dust away using a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, taking care not to rub painted details.

5. Dressing Your Doll

Dressing and changing outfits is part of the fun, but some fabrics and fasteners can damage delicate doll surfaces.

  • Wash new dark-colored clothing before first use
  • Choose light-colored, colorfast fabrics where possible
  • Use a light underlayer beneath dark outfits
  • Avoid leaving dark denim or strong dyes on the doll for long periods
  • Open fasteners fully before dressing
  • Guide hands and feet gently through sleeves and trouser legs
  • Do not force tight clothing over fingers, toes, or rooted hair
  • Remove metal accessories that may scratch or stain the surface

Ink and fabric dye can transfer permanently to vinyl and silicone. Keep dolls away from newspapers, printed packaging, marker pens, leather dyes, dark denim, and heavily dyed fabrics.

6. Handling and Posing

Always move your MiraBabe gently and according to its body construction.

  • Support the head and torso when lifting larger or heavier dolls
  • Do not lift the doll by one arm, one leg, fingers, toes, or hair
  • Do not force joints beyond their natural range
  • Do not repeatedly bend silicone fingers or toes
  • Avoid sitting or placing heavy objects on the doll
  • Keep the doll away from sharp jewelry, pet claws, and rough surfaces
  • Use gentle poses rather than forcing extreme positions

Poseability varies by model. Check the individual product page before attempting seated, standing, or extended poses.

7. Pacifiers, Bottles, and Accessories

  • Do not force a pacifier or bottle into the mouth
  • Use only accessories designed for the specific doll
  • Do not place real food, milk, juice, or liquid inside the doll
  • Keep magnets and small parts away from young children
  • Inspect accessories regularly for damage or loose parts
  • Remove accessories before storage when they may leave marks

Bottles and feeding accessories supplied with dolls are usually intended for pretend play only unless the product page states otherwise.

8. Storage

Proper storage helps protect the doll’s color, shape, clothing, and surface finish.

  • Store in a clean, cool, and dry indoor area
  • Keep away from direct sunlight and strong artificial light
  • Avoid heaters, radiators, hot cars, and high-temperature spaces
  • Keep away from dampness, bathrooms, basements, and condensation
  • Do not store underneath heavy objects
  • Use clean, light-colored blankets or protective fabric
  • Avoid long-term direct contact with dark or printed materials
  • Keep away from pets, smoke, perfume, and cooking odors

If storing for a longer period, remove tight clothing and accessories and position the doll naturally without placing stress on its limbs.

9. Regular Safety Checks

When a doll is used for children’s play, an adult should regularly check the doll and included accessories.

Stop play and inspect the product if you notice:

  • Loose magnets, buttons, or small parts
  • Torn cloth seams or exposed filling
  • Loose eyes, eyelashes, or hair pieces
  • Cracks, splits, or damaged limbs
  • Sharp edges or broken accessories
  • Unusual odors, moisture, or mold

Damaged products or accessories should be kept away from children until they have been repaired, replaced, or safely discarded.

10. Common Care Questions

Can I use baby wipes?

Some wipes contain alcohol, fragrance, oil, or strong cleansing ingredients that may affect paint or surface finishes. A soft cloth lightly dampened with water is usually a safer first step.

Can I use baby powder on a silicone doll?

Only use a powder or matting product if the individual product instructions specifically recommend it. Different silicone finishes may require different care products.

Can I wash the doll’s clothing?

Check the clothing label where available. Gentle hand washing in cool water is often safest. Wash dark items separately and ensure clothing is fully dry before putting it back on the doll.

What should I do if clothing dye transfers?

Remove the clothing immediately and contact customer care before applying stain removers or solvents. Aggressive treatment may make the damage worse.

Can I cut or restyle the hair?

Cutting, dyeing, washing, gluing, or permanently restyling the hair is not recommended and may damage the doll or affect return eligibility.

11. Product-Specific Instructions

This guide provides general care recommendations. Your doll’s individual product page, packaging, and included instructions take priority because materials and construction vary by model.

Before bathing, using any cleaning product, or attempting a repair, confirm:

  • The body material
  • Whether the doll has a cloth torso
  • Whether bathing is permitted
  • The hair type
  • Whether eyelashes or accessories are glued
  • Whether magnets or small parts are included
